Good-bye Daphna

When we think about Visions we think about Music, which means we think about you Daphna. The congregation has created a list of our favourite Daphna memories, for you to take with you on your new journey...

Turning the World (and the Church) Upside Down!

The early followers of Jesus were accused of 'turning the world upside down' with their message of good news. In our day, too, the gospel values of peace, justice and God's radical love for all people can clash with our consumer culture's values.

How will we 'turn the world upside down' with the Love of God?

Visions in the Cloud – Easter

April 4, 2021

Easter Sunday: "Early on the first day..."

Enter the Mystery of Easter with us.

Experience the Story again of "Early on the first day"

This Easter we wonder with those first visitors to the empty tomb what new reality is dawning for us as we await a post-pandemic world. (John 20:1-18)

We will share Communion as part of our Easter celebration. Please prepare food for yourself: a piece of bread, roll, maybe a hot cross bun; and a cup of juice - perhaps grape or cranberry - or wine, with or without alcohol. We will bless the elements together with prayer and song.

Palm Sunday - Stones & Hosannas

Jesus said, "Even if these disciples were silent, the stones would shout out."

Inspired by a story called "The Stones Cry Out" we begin the journey of Holy Week. Join us for a special drama, song and prayer.
Bring a small stone to worship and join your voice with Creation's song, 'Hosanna! Loud Hosanna!'

Lent Week 5 : A Covenant of Hope

God has a new covenant with us, forgiving our sins. If we ask God to forgive our sins, are we prepared to forgive those who have sinned against us?
These are strange times. The past year has been a long Lenten time as we've made our way through the wilderness of this COVID pandemic.

03-17 Community Hub Update

The construction site at 140 Joyce Avenue continues to be a busy place!
Have you had the chance to drive by? Here are a couple recent updates.

It's been a few weeks since we've had a peak inside the Hub building.

Progress on the apartment side includes insulation and installation of shower/bathtub fixtures.

The second story concrete floor has been poured on the Hub side and the walls are framed. The main stairway is built and the elevator lift shaft is framed, ready for installation.
Staging fills the entire multi-purpose room to enable the installation of duct work and the steel beams and framing for the room dividers above the ceiling.

We are still on schedule for August 1st occupancy!

Lent Week 4 : Covenant of Healing

These are strange times. The past year has been a long Lenten time as we've made our way through the wilderness of this COVID pandemic.

  • Where do we fix our gaze?
  • Where are we finding God - hope, life and truth - in this time we are in?

Join us this Sunday as we hear the story of a 'strange remedy' for healing. Our story is from Numbers 21:4-9, the Hebrew peoples' wilderness journey, and their reminder of God's Covenant promise.

Visions in the Cloud – Lent 3

March 7 2021

Lenten Week 3 : Covenant of Love

The gift of the 'Ten Commandments' is a prophetic call to care for one another. (Exodus 20:1-17). Too often we've read them as some ancient rules set in stone. But what if we saw them as vision statements - touchstones - for how we might live in community? Join us this week as we re-imagine the ethical call to practice love in our world today.
