2023 – Lenten Series

Seeking: Honest questions for deeper faith

Many of us are asking big questions about our lives and our faith after the turbulence of the past few years. If you are returning to church, you are likely returning with more questions and a critical lens. We hope this series will help all of us unpack some of those big questions in ways that are honest and faithful.

This Lent we invite you to engage in the spiritual practice of seeking…

  • stay curious, open and nimble
  • soften your assumptions and expand your perspectives
  • draw deeper into the heart of God

You Are Not Alone: Kindness and Encouragement

What if we lived each day on the lookout for ways to make someone’s day through a kind and unexpected gesture? It might just make our day as well!

This week we bring to a close our series, Shining a Light on the 'Blahs' with the spiritual practice of kindness and encouragement.

Visions in the Cloud – Feb 12

Soothe the Soul: Sing. Walk. Move.

We continue to explore how our everyday activities can become spiritual practices that ‘shine a light’ and deepen meaning in our lives. Music can have a powerful effect on our mood with its ability to literally ‘move’ us. The Psalmist proclaims that God can give us a new song, bringing us out of a ‘miry bog.’

What song is on your favourite ‘playlist’ that lightens your spirit and soothes your soul? And what activities – walking, dancing, running, stretching – boost your spirit and energy?

January 8th - Epiphany Sunday - "We Keep Seeking"

This Sunday we bring the Advent-Christmas season to a close with the celebration of Epiphany.

The Magi were seekers. They sought wisdom and the divine. Their seeking leads them to Jesus. Like the Magi, may we seek the diving and be willing to journey closer to God. From Generation to Generation, we keep seeking wisdom, justice and a better world. Join us for worship and receive your Star Word for 2023.

Visions in the Cloud – Dec 18

Welcome

"We See God in Each Other" - Advent 4

This week we hear the story of Mary and Elizabeth, and how their encounter with the Divine in each other inspires Mary to sing her radical song of praise. (Luke 1:39-58)

From generation to generation, we can see how God is at work in our relationships. We find the Divine in each other. When we view every human being as a child of God, we generate a different world.

Join us as we light the candle of Love and celebrate Communion. If you are joining us online, please bring something of your choosing for the elements of bread and grape juice.

Welcome

"We Can Choose a Better Way" - Advent 3

There are always choices to be made along life's journey. How do you find your way to the choices you make?

This week we look to Joseph on our Advent journey for the courage to choose the better way when life is interrupted with a 'holy invitation'. (Matthew 1:18-25)
