Visions in the Cloud – Dec 18

Welcome

"We See God in Each Other" - Advent 4

This week we hear the story of Mary and Elizabeth, and how their encounter with the Divine in each other inspires Mary to sing her radical song of praise. (Luke 1:39-58)

From generation to generation, we can see how God is at work in our relationships. We find the Divine in each other. When we view every human being as a child of God, we generate a different world.

Join us as we light the candle of Love and celebrate Communion. If you are joining us online, please bring something of your choosing for the elements of bread and grape juice.

"We Can Choose a Better Way" - Advent 3

There are always choices to be made along life's journey. How do you find your way to the choices you make?

This week we look to Joseph on our Advent journey for the courage to choose the better way when life is interrupted with a 'holy invitation'. (Matthew 1:18-25)

Welcome

"God Meets Us in Our Fear" - Advent 2

"Do not be afraid." We hear this phrase over and over again in the Christmas story and remember it is the most common phrase in all the bible. From generation to generation, God shows up in the midst of our fear and uncertainty and confusion, offering the same reassurance. This week we hear Mary's story and the promise, "God meets us in our fear, too." (Luke 1:26-38)

We apologize that that Camera is not working today...

"There's Room for Every Story" - Advent 1

This Advent, may you remember that you belong—to a story etched into the wrinkles of time, to generations that have come before and will come after, to a love that won’t let you go. Join us this Sunday as we begin our Advent journey with the characters of the Christmas story, and recall that like a tapestry woven throughout time, the Christmas story weaves us in—there is room for your story!

Visions in the Cloud – Nov 20

Welcome

Join us this Sunday for an All Ages Celebration:

"For everything there is a season..."

What is time? How do we mark time? From a faith perspective, every ending is a beginning, and in every beginning, there is an ending. Time is a circle. This Sunday marks the end of the liturgical year in the Christian Calendar. Next week a new year begins with Advent! Come, Join the Circle as we wonder together about the mystery of time.

Please Note: There is no separate Children's Program this Sunday.

Welcome

Remembering

"I am sure that nothing can separate us from God's love- not life or death, not angels or spirits, not the present or the future, not powers above or powers below.  Nothing in all creation can separate us from God's love for us in Christ Jesus our Lord!"

Welcome

"Don't Lose Heart"

Jesus told a parable once "to pray always and not lose heart". It is easy to get discouraged. What does it mean to persist in the way of prayer and faith? (Luke 18:1-8)

This Sunday we also welcome our new music director, Martha Shaw.

Welcome

All Hallowtide Service

Who are the saints in your life? The “thin days” of All Hallows are coming. In our worship, we’ll celebrate the great-souled people who illumine the path of love in the world, consider ourselves as saints-in-making, and learn to look for hope where heaven and earth come close.

“There are all kinds of saints, but everyone is someone who is known by God.”
— Jerome Berryman

Welcome

Visions is a Spiritual Community where ... Hospitality. IS.

This week we gather in a 'Hospitality Cafe' and imagine together what is Spiritual Community when the welcome is wide, 'everyone knows your name', conversation is heartfelt, and compassion is practiced.

We will break open a few more 'Tools of the Trade' as we wrap up our Hospitality-talk, and put our 'tools of the trade' in practice.

Have a look at our digital 'Hospitality Audit' here:

Welcome

“Seeing God-presence in Everyone”

What would you do if Jesus came knocking on your door? We encounter God-presence everyday in the people we meet. Hospitality is the first step toward dismantling the barriers of the world and living with an open heart.

Join us this Sunday as we continue to explore our Hospitality theme and the "Tools of the Trade" we have to practice a wide and radical welcome from our hearts, for our community.
