Visions in the Cloud – Apr 30

An Emmaus Blessing

Blessing the Roads We Travel
Blessing the Companions on the Way
Blessing the Holy Encounters

Easter is not an event that has already happened. Easter is an adventure that has begun and a path we travel. We hear the story of the Road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13-35) and the followers of Jesus who found hope in their encounter with a stranger. Easter is always unfolding. Resurrection keeps happening when we have hearts to see.

We will also mark the beginning of Rev. Shawn's sabbatical with a blessing time for her and for our Visions' community.

For the Love of All Creatures

We bring our celebration of Earth Week to a close by sharing stories of the creatures we share a home with on this planet earth. Do you have a story about the role a pet has played in your life, or a spiritual moment experienced while watching your pet or an animal in the wild? What do creatures teach us about life and faith, about our Creator and living with respect in Creation?

Bring along a picture of your pet if you like!

Earth Day

As we begin Earth Week, leading up to Earth Day on Saturday, April 22nd, we’ll explore how we could learn, pray and act for climate justice, helping those most affected by our carelessness and greed.

Seeking: Who are you looking for?

On this Easter, who - or what - are you looking for? What kind of Jesus are you seeking?  What veils need to be lifted so your spirit can sing an Alleluia, and you can recognize the wonder of resurrection wherever it is occurring?

Join us as we celebrate the promise of new life at Easter. We will gather at the Table for Communion.

Seeking: Why have you forsaken me?

Join us for this contemplative service of reflection and prayer. Jesus' lament gives voice to the question asked by all those who have been forsaken, who've felt forsaken. Sitting with this question unveils many more questions: What do we do in the face of suffering? Can we sit in the silence of death and trust God is still there? Will we come alongside those who suffer and grieve?

Sorry, no attachments exist.

A Note About Our Good Friday Service

If you are joining us online, we invite you to bring a candle for worship, and a symbol like a stone or nail. These will be used in prayer.

If you do not have a stone or nail available, there will be a prayer gesture offered for you to use instead.

Seeking: Where are you headed?

Palm Sunday is the Story of Two Parades. One extravagant and expected.

Another, unconventional and unorthodox. Imagine you are in Jerusalem when Jesus enters on a donkey. Amid the chaos and commotion of that scene, where are you? In the midst of opposing forces which way will you go? Many of our weekly questions throughout the season so far have helped us prepare spiritually for Holy Week. Where are you headed?
