Visions in the Cloud – Mar 19

Seeking: Who sinned?

Uh oh! Sometimes the questions we ask are filled with assumptions and harmful theology. This week we pay attention to the kinds of questions we ask. We turn to a story when Jesus and the disciples encounter a blind man, and the disciples ask, "Teacher, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" (John 9:2)

The hard work of "seeking honest questions for deeper faith" often involves wrestling with our assumptions, our intent and unhelpful theology about why things happen.

Seeking: Will you Give me a Drink?

In the heat of midday, Jesus seeks out a Samaritan woman drawing water from a well. "Will you give me a drink?" (John 4:4-52).

Jesus' question is an invitation to us into a new way of life. This week we gather at the well, seeking to not simply quench thirst, but to find living waters that sustain us all.

Seeking: How do we Begin Again?

This week we delve deeper into our Lenten theme, “Seeking: honest questions for deeper faith”. Nicodemus comes to Jesus under the veil of night to ask him big questions. Jesus invites him to begin again, to learn a new way of knowing and living out his faith (John 3:1-17). What questions might Jesus be calling you to live into?

Visions in the Cloud – Feb 22 -Ash Wednesday

Seeking: Is this the fast that I choose?

Many of us are asking big questions about our lives and our faith after the turbulence of the past few years. If you are returning to church, you are likely returning with more questions and a critical lens. We hope this series will help all of us unpack some of those big questions in ways that are honest and faithful.

This Lent we invite you to engage in the spiritual practice of seeking…
…stay curious, open and nimble
…soften your assumptions and expand your perspectives
…draw deeper into the heart of God.

Welcome

Easter Sunday - Live in the Garden

All Lent we took time to turn ladder-climbing into garden-tending with the call to nurture our souls and embrace our holy, 'good-enough' lives.
This Easter we celebrate the 'Good Enough' garden of our lives. Alleluia!

We go 'live' to the garden to hear 'Good News', and enjoy a picnic (aka Communion).
Renew your spirit with Easter Hope. The world is our garden. Together we make a difference.

Communion: If you are worshiping with us by livestream (or later by recording), please bring a little bread/cracker and juice/water for Communion.

Sorry, no attachments exist.

The recording of the livestream Spirit Gathering will be posted within a few hours of completion of the event.

Welcome

This week we begin Holy Week, a story marked by joyous celebration, doubt, betrayal, abandonment and keeping vigil together. Where are we in this story?

What does it mean to be a community of support, especially when the chips are down? What kind of faith is 'Good Enough' amid our messy, complicated, imperfect lives? Join us as we listen to this sacred story of Jesus' passion. Listen for the promise that even in our imperfection, we are beloved, and God is still here.

The recording of the livestream Spirit Gathering will be posted within a few hours of completion of the event.

"We are Fragile"

We don't want to think about death. We like to think we are invincible and we can will ourselves into being strong. But we are fragile beings... and life is fragile.

This Sunday we hear a story of love and devotion: Mary of Bethany anoints Jesus and calls us to bless one another with compassion in the vulnerable moments of our lives.

Scripture: John 12:1-8

The recording of the livestream Spirit Gathering will be posted within a few hours of completion of the event.

"Even with Failure, There is Grace Enough"

Have you ever messed up - really messed up? Maybe you are someone who is unrealistically hard on yourself? This Sunday we hear a story reminding us that extravagant failure is met with extravagant love and grace.

That's good news, especially when we've slipped a rung or two on the ladder of expectation and perfection (Or when we live in fear that we will lose our careful footing!)

Join our Lenten journey of embracing the imperfections of life and faith.

Scripture: Luke 15:1-3,11b-32

We apologize that the SOUND quality is very poor for this recording
