Lent 1 - Seek: honest questions for deeper faith

We begin our Lenten journey with the story of Jesus’ seeking (Matthew 4:1-11).
We ask, “Who will you listen to?”
We will celebrate Communion.
If you are joining us on-line, please bring some bread/cracker and juice/water
for Communion (we continue to use a grape & bread)

Many of us are asking big questions about our lives and our faith after the turbulence of the past few years. If you are returning to church, you are likely returning with more questions and a critical lens. We hope this series will help all of us unpack some of those big questions in ways that are honest and faithful.

Soothe the Soul: Sing. Walk. Move.

We continue to explore how our everyday activities can become spiritual practices that ‘shine a light’ and deepen meaning in our lives. Music can have a powerful effect on our mood with its ability to literally ‘move’ us. The Psalmist proclaims that God can give us a new song, bringing us out of a ‘miry bog.’

What song is on your favourite ‘playlist’ that lightens your spirit and soothes your soul? And what activities – walking, dancing, running, stretching – boost your spirit and energy?

Lighten It Up: Finding Joy and Laughter.
Life can be serious business. This week we choose to lighten it up–to “spin” life in a little different way as we look for the delight and especially, humor, in life. What brings a smile to your face? What makes you laugh? Where do you find joy? Join us this Sunday as we continue to shine a light on the ‘blahs.’
