Visions in the Cloud – May 08

Welcome

"On the Day You Were Born"

This week we celebrate Christian Family Sunday with the Sacrament of Baptism. We welcome two children into our faith family!

We celebrate our kinship within the universe.
The service is inspired by the children's story book, "On the Day You Were Born", and is part of a worship series "Once Upon a Time", created by Rev. Shawn based on some of her favourite children's stories.

The recording of the livestream Spirit Gathering will be posted within a few hours of completion of the event.

Welcome

"What?"
As in: “Come again.” Or “you’ve got to be kidding me?”
This week will discuss "Oh, the things God will ask you to do!" (Acts 9:1–20)
This Sunday we welcome and thank Rev. Audrey Lounder for leading the Spirit Gathering.

The recording of the livestream Spirit Gathering will be posted within a few hours of completion of the event.

Knowing Jesus in a New Way

Did you know the season of Easter is 50 days long?
This Sunday we hear some stories of how those first followers came to "Know Jesus in a New Way" and live with an Easter faith.

Easter Sunday - Live in the Garden

All Lent we took time to turn ladder-climbing into garden-tending with the call to nurture our souls and embrace our holy, 'good-enough' lives.
This Easter we celebrate the 'Good Enough' garden of our lives. Alleluia!

We go 'live' to the garden to hear 'Good News', and enjoy a picnic (aka Communion).
Renew your spirit with Easter Hope. The world is our garden. Together we make a difference.

Communion: If you are worshiping with us by livestream (or later by recording), please bring a little bread/cracker and juice/water for Communion.

Visions in the Cloud – Apr 10

Welcome

This week we begin Holy Week, a story marked by joyous celebration, doubt, betrayal, abandonment and keeping vigil together. Where are we in this story?

What does it mean to be a community of support, especially when the chips are down? What kind of faith is 'Good Enough' amid our messy, complicated, imperfect lives? Join us as we listen to this sacred story of Jesus' passion. Listen for the promise that even in our imperfection, we are beloved, and God is still here.

The recording of the livestream Spirit Gathering will be posted within a few hours of completion of the event.

Welcome

"We are Fragile"

We don't want to think about death. We like to think we are invincible and we can will ourselves into being strong. But we are fragile beings... and life is fragile.

This Sunday we hear a story of love and devotion: Mary of Bethany anoints Jesus and calls us to bless one another with compassion in the vulnerable moments of our lives.

Scripture: John 12:1-8

"Even with Failure, There is Grace Enough"

Have you ever messed up - really messed up? Maybe you are someone who is unrealistically hard on yourself? This Sunday we hear a story reminding us that extravagant failure is met with extravagant love and grace.

That's good news, especially when we've slipped a rung or two on the ladder of expectation and perfection (Or when we live in fear that we will lose our careful footing!)

Join our Lenten journey of embracing the imperfections of life and faith.

Scripture: Luke 15:1-3,11b-32

Welcome

"Lots of Things Can Be Medicine"

Our worth is not about what we produce or how well we perform. We are already 'good enough' and worthy of love! This week we consider the oppressive expectations about perfection in our lives and faith.

We look to the wisdom of the gardener in the parable of the fig tree. How do we tend our souls 'lovingly', and embrace our holy, 'good enough' lives?

Scripture: Luke 13:1-9

A recording of the in person service will be posted to the website as early as Sunday evening and no later than Tuesday.

Welcome

"So Much Is Out of Our Control"
This Lent, we are embracing the imperfections of life and faith, reminding ourselves we are “Good Enough”. There is so much in life beyond our control.

What if we could let go of needing all things and all people to be “just so”, and instead learn to dance with the unfolding of that which is not ours to control?

Scripture story: Luke 13:31-35

A recording of the in person service will be posted to the website as early as Sunday evening and no later than Tuesday.
